Good landscaping can make a huge difference in your sale. Here’s why.
Now that spring has finally arrived, it’s a perfect time for sellers to start sprucing up their lawn and garden areas before listing. We’re joined today by Mike Romig of Karma Landscaping, one of our preferred vendors, and he’ll be sharing some landscaping tips and explaining why a good lawn is helpful for home sellers.
Mike’s advice is that when it comes to outdoor aesthetics, less is more. Many people are ripping out rhododendrons and other big plants from the fronts of their homes; it makes the home look cleaner and larger, and it also allows the buyer to put in exactly what they want. Mike’s noticed a shift toward more compact and low-maintenance plants, such as evergreens and hollies.
Mike says that sellers who want to do some landscaping should call a professional about a month before listing. The same is true for people who just bought a home and want to make some changes. By calling a month in advance, you can get helpful advice and figure out an effective plan with your landscaper.
We always recommend Karma Landscaping because they like to form strong, personal connections with clients and their families. They get to know who they’re working for, and they price their services accordingly. Mike says their price point is far lower than most, as they like to figure out a payment that people are comfortable with. It’s an approach that creates beautiful lawns for people who would otherwise skip out on landscaping—about 70% of Mike’s clients had never used landscaping services before.
We’d like to thank Mike for sharing some insight into what landscaping can do for sellers. If you have any questions or would like referrals for home services, feel free to reach out to us. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
